Films Today :: essays research papers

The British tabloid press is famed for jumping on anybandwagon that supports popular opinion. Before herdeath the Princess of Wales was hounded on a dailybasis for nearly two decades by the paparazzi to collapsethe insatiable appetency of the word for her picture. This lead, putting conspiracy theories aside, directlyto her death. right off these very same newspapers arefeeding the publics bottomless pit of an appetite withstories of her life and loves. A day never goes by without virtually mention of her charity work, her past loversand even the dresses she wore when on royal duties. screen British tabloid newspaper The Sunwhich campaigned to pee all photographnasties banned for the sake of ourchildren. Right A graphic scene from wear downCoscarellis Phantasm. The only bandwagon that comes close to matching that of the Princess of Wales is theeffect that films, video films in particular, have on the viewing public. When The Omenwas shown on British television in the early 80s reports came in that people had toseek spiritual guidance in order for them to come to terms with the images they hadseen on the screen. Some even account that knives and forks had somehow becomebent and twisted as if overtaken by wrong forces. Had their cutlery really becomepossessed by the devil or were they attention seekers trying to get their fifteenminutes of fame? The newspapers were quick to bolt on and appointed themselves asour guardians against the vile influx of film and video. Films were deuced for all of ourfaults, it wasnt his fault if a man raped a muliebrity because he was following what hehad seen in a video, and it wasnt their fault if children use foul language becausethey had heard it in a film. But I have to keep asking myself one question isnt itabout meter that we took the responsibilities for our actions? If a man, or woman, commit a crime then it is non the fault of some Hollywood filmmaker but theresponsibility of the express individual. We all lik e someone to blame. The worlds pollutionis the fault of the motorist so lets tax them out of existence, the fact that littleJohnny bunks off school day and cant read or write is the fault of the teachers, or thegovernment, but never the parents who dont know how to control their own children.Isnt it about time that we stopped passing(a) the buck and admitted that WE are toblame when WE do something wrong.
